  1. How long have you been on DeviantArt?

  2. In total, I've been on DeviantART for... Oh... Maybe 5 years or so? I've only had this account for about 3 though.

  3. What does your username mean?
It's my name. Yes, Stuck is my last name. I've been stuck with it my whole life. Get it? Stuck? Hahah. No? Okay, that was a bad joke...

  4. Describe yourself in three words.
Hmm. This is probably the hardest question on here. Dynamic, passionate, and just a little bit weird.

  5. Are you left or right handed?
Right. Do they even make left-handed cameras?

  6. What was your first deviation?
    This one.

  7. What is your favourite type of art to create?
    Photography, easy.

  8. If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?
Now here's a good question. I'd have to say digital drawing/painting. I have entire worlds in my head that I'd love nothing more than to illustrate, but for now I'm content illustrating the world I already have.

  9. What was your first favourite?
I have no idea, to be honest. Let me look it up... Apparently this?

  10. What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?
Hm. It's a toss up between digital drawings/paintings and photography.

  11. Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?
    Just one? Probably Vlue.

  12. If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?
goRillA-iNK definitely, if only so I could watch him work.

  13. How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?
Impossible to answer really, though I'd to thank some of the people from the iPhotograph chat for keeping me company when I was processing photos late at night.

  14. What are your preferred tools to create art?
Well, I'm a Nikon guy. So... yeah. (Currently I shoot with a D750)

  15. What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?
In my hands, that's where my camera is. Broader than that? Planet Earth.

  16. What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?
Not sure if I have any ONE favorite.

I've been saving up for quite a while, and now finally I have it. I opted for a D750. It was expensive, but worth it. I'm going to be out and shooting almost every day, I can already tell we will get along just fine.
Here are some shots I've been taking with it over the last few days.

Well, here's another draft. I don't think I'll ever be done with this thing. Then again, that's not a bad thing I suppose. Anyhow, here's another edition of my statement.

I do not use photography as a way of capturing memories; instead, I use photography as a tool to capture perspectives, my perspective. I photograph because I enjoy showing people alternative ways of looking at things. My camera is not a tool, it is an extension of my eye; a means of sharing my unique perspective. I often feel that the world can be more interesting, and often times more beautiful, if you simply slow down and try to look at things differently. My aim is to share that idea with the world and to show people my own unique perspective using photography.

There are two major categories that I sort most of my works into: aesthetic and symbolic. The photographs that I call my ‘aesthetic’ pieces are ones that I consider to be simply eye candy, and not much more. They are meant to be visually pleasing, but not much further than that; no intellectual content or deeper meaning. I start working on these photographs taking my subject and exploring it as deeply as I can visually speaking, completely ignoring any symbolism or stigmas that it might represent. I explore how it looks in different focuses, angles, framings, and lighting conditions. When I eventually find that scene that clicks with me, that is when I take the shot. My ‘symbolic’ shots require me to work a little differently. With those sorts of shots, I come up with an idea before I even find my subject. It is only after that that I ever find a subject that can symbolize what I want to portray and photograph it.

Recently I have been exploring alternative perspectives, both literally and figuratively. I have a newborn affinity for photographing subjects in ways that they are not normally considered or seen. As I said, my goal is to show people unique perspectives of seeing and thinking. Rather than tackling a subject or theme head-on, I try to be as subtle about the meaning of my work as I can. My goal in this is to encourage others and myself to consider content on a deeper level than usual.

That's right everybody, the sun is out, and the birds are singing. It's that time of year again. I've always loved summer, it's my favorite time of the year to photograph, so full of life and color!
To celebrate another year of sun, I'm going to be putting up a lot more colorful macro shots on my front page. As a bonus, I'll even submit most of them as downloads so you can use them as wallpapers!

Here are some of the first shots I've taken thus far.

Check back every now and then for more pictures, peace out!

P.S. For those who care, I'll be re-organizing my photographs into folders based on the year they were taken, and will be removing some deviations that aren't even photographs. Hang tight!
